ThepredecessorofJiangsuProvincialMusiciansAssociationwas"ThePreparatoryCommitteeoftheNanjingBranchoftheChineseMusiciansAssociation",duringthethirdJiangsuProvincialCulturalCongressheldinSuzhoufromMarch29toApril4,1960,the"JiangsuBranchoftheChineseMusiciansAssociation"wasformallyestablished. 选举产生理事33人，委员80人，其中全国委员18人。

1991年，经批准成为江苏省协会法人，改名为"江苏省音乐家协会"。黄有奎（女）、陈鹏年、朱昌耀先后任主席。
